Well it is time to awake the beauty! I have removed the spark plugs and exposed the carb, cleaned the K&N air filter and bought a turkey baster more on that later!
My question is can I pour B12 carb cleaner down the throat of the carb and let it sit. Put non ethanol gas in the tank rinse it and add a mixture of B12 and gas 2oz to a gal. to the tank. Now for the turkey baster if I fill it with B12 chemtool and inject it into the gas line to the carb thru the fuel pump while cranking it will it help or hurt it? Any suggestions will be appreciated I have rejetted this bike and really do not want to remove the carb again, I am getting to old for that! So will my plan work or does anyone have an alternative? Thanks to all!! P.S. will the B-12 harm any rubber seals and such I know to keep it away from the paint!!

Nice bike! You’re mostly on the right track Berryman B-12 Chemtool Fuel System Cleaner (part #0116). 0116 is ideal for cleaning out the gas tank, especially since you’ve already removed it. Use it straight to clean out any gum, varnish, or other fuel residues. Swirl it around in the tank to get complete coverage before draining.
0116 is also perfect for performing piston/cylinder soaks if you’re considering that. If so, just remove the spark plugs and pour in enough 0116 to cover the entire piston. Then use your turkey baster (or small diameter tubing) to remove the spent carbon/0116 mixture. Because it often takes close to a full can of 0116 per cylinder in V-configured motors, you might look for the 1-gallon version of this product, which is part #0101.
You can run straight 0116 through the gas line to the carb and it’s safe on seals if you’re not soaking long-term. However, that application might benefit from some detergency, too, especially inside the carburetor. In that case, an even better product would be Berryman B-12 Chemtool Total Fuel System Clean-Up (part #2616). This has the same basic formula as 0116 but also includes our strongest gasoline detergent additive for thorough cleaning of the fuel pump, fuel lines, carburetor, intake valves, and combustion chambers.
And after further review I plan to use the B-12 chemtool total fuel system clean-up because I believe it is the strongest of the bunch! Thanks again!! Norman
Thanks Chemtooler for the quick response!! I expect to use the products mentioned and put it all back together hopefully with no left over parts hit the starter and off we go!!
Well I am getting all my supplies ready to get her started new plugs, Amsoil filter and 10W40 oil and a new battery! I have a question I will be using the B-12 Chemtool Fuel System Cleaner in the gas tank undiluted and then flush with nonethanol gas can I use it in the gas tank combined with Startron as a stabilizer can they be combined? And of course I am using B-12 chemtool total fuel system clean-up pushed thru the fuel lines with my turkey baster into the carb to see if that will dissolve the gum and varnish that's in the jets letting it sit for a few hours, will that hurt any of the carb seals and then flushing with gas then trying a start up with the old plugs and oil and see what happens or should I just go with putting everything in new? Thanks Chemtrooler you are a wealth of knowledge!!! Wish you had a way to post pics I took my beauty by my myself to Detroit and back from my home town of Port Charlotte, Fl what an adventure and I will do it again after all my health issues are resolved and they almost are!!

Berryman B-12 Chemtool additives are generally compatible with competitive additives. Just make sure the competitive additives have an excellent reputation for performing the task at hand. (Some are very “gimmicky”!) As for using 2616 straight in the carb, it should not hurt the seals, but the detergent package in that product was meant to be substantially diluted with gasoline. Instead, you might try either 0116 as-supplied or dilute a bit of 2616 with 0116. As long as you can get the bike started, using 2616 at the recommended concentration of 1 oz/gal of gasoline will do the rest. Regarding pictures, check us out on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Chemtooler and post your pictures there. Good luck!
