Hi, I guess this is a known issue, after 125K+ miiles the 2008/2009 Toyota Rav4 starts burning oil at an alarming rate. Wondering if Berryman has heard of this and which product might help. Thanks! - John Girsch

Hi, John, and thanks for your interest in Berryman. The best way to attack the problem is to determine if you think this is a problem with the compression rings or the oil control rings.
If you’re looking at cleaning up the compression rings, I would recommend trying Berryman B-60 High-Mileage Fuel System Rejuvenator (part #7516), which is our strongest detergent-based fuel additive.
If you need to clean up the oil control rings, I would put 1½-2 fl oz per quart of oil capacity of Berryman B-12 Chemtool Fuel Injector Cleaner (part #0116) into the crankcase when the engine cold. Then, run the engine for about 10 minutes at idle and check the oil to see if you need to change the oil and filter.
Both of these methods are pretty simple places to start. If you continue to have oil consumption issues please feel free to reply or use the Contact Us form under the MORE menu option to reach me directly. Thanks, Dan.
