I CURRENTLY USE THE SUBJECT IN MY 2010 HARLEY DAVIDSON 96 C.I. 1584 CC AIR COOL'D ENGINE. THE ENGINE CALLS FOR HIGH OCTANE FUELS . I USE THE ADDITIVE TO BOOST OCTANE AS STATED ON CAN. I USE REGULAR FUEL 87 OCTANE WITH GOOD RESULTS; I.E. NO PING, GOOD PERFORMANCE AND FUEL MILEAGE. I RAN HIGH OCTANE FUEL DURING A EAST TO WEST CROSS COUNTRY TRIP AND RETURN GETTING ONLY 30-35 MILES TO THE GALLON. I HAD PLUGS REPLACED BUT THE USED PLUGS WERE CLEAN BUT I CHANGED THEM ANYWAY. I DID NOT HAVE BETTER PERFORMANCE UNTIL I USED AN ADDITIVE STABIL. I FOUND B 12 BY TRIAL TO BE JUST AS GOOD FOR MUCH LESS THE PRICE.
MY QUESTION IS THIS ACCEPTABLE PRACTICE? DOES B 12 INCREASE OCTANE, PERFORMANCE ?

Clean fuel systems run more efficiently and often with lower octane requirements. Berryman B-12 Chemtool Fuel System Cleaner (part #0116) has a very high octane value inherently but is not designed to increase the octane number of the fuel. Nor does it double as a true fuel stabilizer. Instead, it is meant primarily to increase performance through fuel system cleaning, although it does great in the crankcase as an oil flush and in the combustion chambers for cylinder soaks.
As long as a tank of gasoline doesn’t last you more than a few weeks, then continuing the B-12 Chemtool Fuel System Cleaner regimen should be just fine for your application. Remember—if you can’t hear knocking/pinging, then you don’t need to buy higher octane gas!
