I added 4 oz of b12 fuel treatment to my crankcase. Holds 5 quarts oil. I did not follow the direction, I did NOT drain it immediately. I have driven 20 miles. It started and died this morning and would not stay running. Did the chemtool

There is likely no correlation. Unlike traditional engine flush products, Berryman B-12 Chemtool Fuel Injector Cleaner (part #0116) evaporates completely by the time the engine reaches operating temperature, meaning there is no cleaner left in the crankcase. 4 oz per 5 quarts is a pretty low dose, too, as we recommend using 1½ to 2 oz/qt (7½-10 oz for your pickup).
Now, if the crankcase was extremely dirty with sludge and/or other buildup (blowby carbon, for instance), then it’s possibly that this small dosage led to some sort of blockage. If you suspect this, try changing the oil and adding upwards of 10 oz of 0116 BEFORE the fresh oil to help break up any sludge. Even if the engine won’t stay running for very long, the cleaner will still get circulated in fits and starts. If this seems to improve the situation, continue restarting the engine. If the oil immediately gets dark, you’ll know it’s working. In that case, drain and repeat.
