We offer two different products that can address sticky lifters. Berryman OIL CHANGE FLUSH (part #1216) is designed to be poured into the crankcase and run at idle for 10-15 minutes immediately prior to an oil and filter change. This product does not contain aggressive solvents like old-school oil flushes and reduces sludge little by little rather. If the ticking just started, a single application should address the problem. If you’ve had the issue for a while, then it may require a follow-up treatment.
We also offer Berryman B-12 CHEMTOOL FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER (part #0116) which can be poured into the cold crankcase at a rate of 1½-2 fl oz/qt of oil capacity and run for 5-10 minutes. In your engine, that would be about 8-11 fl oz. This is a more aggressive product but will address the ticking in a single application. This is a great solution for older vehicles that have been well-maintained; however, we do not recommend this treatment on high-mileage engines with poor or unknown maintenance history. In such cases, use of part #1216 is a better solution.
