I bought this can four years ago and stored it in my garage for a carburetor rebuild project.  I went to open it today and found, after a struggle, that the entire can lid had rusted to the lip and the lip came apart with the lid.  Is this normal?  Why not use a plastic container, like the included basket, that won't corrode in storage?
