Cleaning a bicycle chain with Chem-Dip is not advisable because it has nonvolatile components that may prevent the rollers, plates, etc. from smoothly sliding and spinning as intended. A better solution would be to use Berryman B-12 Chemtool Carburetor, Choke & Throttle Body Cleaner (part #0117) and then apply fresh chain lube such as Berryman Professional Lubrex Chain & Cable Lubricant (part #1011). It goes on thin to quickly penetrate all parts of the inner and outer links, then quickly thickens up to provide lubricity, wear protection, and corrosion inhibition.
