Perhaps. Berryman makes two different products under the Chem-Dip trade name. We offer a product in a 1-gallon paint can (part #0996) that is well-suited for most consumers. This product is safe and easy-to-handle and is compatible with most metals and plastics; however, soak times with aluminum and its alloys should be limited to a few hours to avoid darkening the metal.
Berryman Professional Chem-Dip Carburetor & Parts Cleaner (part #0905) comes in a 6-gallon steel bucket. It is safe on all metals, while being very aggressive toward dirt, grease, oil, and fuel residues like gum and varnish. It can also soften or dissolve many types of plastic. Putting this in a plastic bucket for any length of time could prove problematic.
