I recently purchased a 1 gallon can of your product and it doesn’t seem to work even close to the old 5gal bucket I had years ago. The code on the lid is 17229. Is this a weaker formula for DIY? Is the old formula still available?

Berryman offers two varieties of Chem-Dip. Our Chem-Dip in the 1-gallon paint can (part #0996) is safe on most plastic, rubber, and painted parts but not as effective on gum, varnish, and hard carbon. This is considered the consumer version of our Chem-Dip and is most likely the product you purchased. Our Professional Chem-Dip in the 5-gallon bucket (part #0905) is very effective on gum, varnish, and hard carbon; it’s just not safe on many plastic, rubber, and painted parts components.
