Can you leave a car in storage with a full tank of gas that has Chemtool#0116 mixed in it? Have a 89 mustang that sits in storage and only get to start every once in awhile. Had a problem with rust starting to form in fuel lines and tank and carried rust particles to injectors. Cleaned most of the rust out, but was wandering if mixing the 0116 in a full tank of gas would clean the remaining rust residue in the system and still be alright to leave stored in gas. The solvents won"t eventually start breaking down o-rings and plastic fuel lines will it? Also is it safe to use another brands fuel stabilizer with the 0116?

B-12 Chemtool Fuel Treatment (part #0116) is designed to help remove water from the gas tank (to prevent rusting) as well as remove gum, varnish and other fuel-related deposits from the fuel pump, fuel lines, carburetor(s)/injectors, and intake valves. However, it will not remove rust from the gas tank or fuel lines.
While B-12 Chemtool is beneficial to use it in stored fuel, it is also not a fuel stabilizer by itself. It is also safe for use with modern fuel lines and o-rings. A good rule of thumb is if the fuel lines and o-rings stand up to E10 gasoline, they can tolerate B-12 Chemtool, too
