However, if you wish to or need to dispose of such products, they are most safely done so through municipal hazardous materials collection programs and waste disposal companies. Many local departments which are responsible for disposing of trash also have one or more annual HAZMAT collection events during which you may be able to drop off products, such as old paint, unwanted household chemicals, etc. for free.
