I have a Scion XD with 108K miles that burns 2 quarts of oil (0W-20) between oil changes. I been using (0116) between oil changes as the car always drive better during and after using it. I was wondering if using (0116) will keep my spark plugs from getting fouled up with oil? Also given the condition of the car, how often should I used (0116)

That’s a lot of oil to be burning. Berryman B-12 Chemtool Fuel System Cleaner (part #0116) will help keep the plugs from getting fouled, but if the oil contamination is severe enough, no amount of additive will help. As for how often to use it, we typically recommend adding it at 1 fl. oz/gallon to every third tank of gas. However, it is fully compatible with the materials of construction in all modern fuel systems and can be used in every tank, if desired.
Out of curiosity, are your rings bad or just stuck? If they’re simply stuck, you may be able to free them up using 0116 EITHER directly in the cylinder(s) via a “cylinder soak” for stuck compression rings OR in the crankcase as an engine flush for stuck oil rings.
To perform a cylinder soak, just remove the spark plugs and pour in enough B-12 Chemtool to cover the entire piston. Then use a turkey baster or small diameter tubing to remove the spent carbon/0116 mixture. Because it often takes close to a full can of 0116 per cylinder in some motors, you might look for the 1-gallon version of this product, which is part #0101.
To use 0116 as an engine flush, pour into your cold crankcase approximately 1½-2 fl. oz. of B-12 Chemtool per quart of oil capacity. If your vehicle holds 4 quarts of oil, then you should use about 6-8 fl. oz. of B-12 Chemtool. After you’ve added it to your cold engine oil, start the vehicle and run it at idle 10-15 minutes or until the oil is warm. Then change the spent oil and replace the oil filter.
