This product says its good for windings and brushes of the electric motor.
A review said it melted plastic. Will this product dissolve the motor varnish insulation?

Great question! While Berryman Electric Motor Cleaner (Part #1520) can adversely affect some sensitive plastics like ABS and polystyrene, it is safe and effective on electric motor insulation.
