Put some B-12 Chemtool in my generator's gas tank, now it is leaking what looks like water and smells like varnish from the carburetor, but only when the valve to the carburetor is turned on. Is that normal? If it is normal, when is it safe to crank the generator?

No, that is certainly not normal. It's possible that there was gum or varnish around a gasket that the product removed, thereby affecting the gasket's ability to seal; however, that would be extremely unusual. Have you checked the fuel line yet?
No. I'll probably have to leave it to a professional and explain what happened. Thanks for your quick response. Do you think it would be safe to crank if it doesn't leak when I put gas in it later? I'm pretty sure the tank is empty now.
If it isn't leaking, then yes. Check the easy stuff first, though--fuel lines, hose clamps, etc.
