Berryman offers two different Chem-Dip formulas. One product is very dark amber/brown in color and is intended for general consumer use. It is available only in 1-gallon paint-style cans as part #0996.  The other Chem-Dip product from Berryman is professional-strength with an amber-colored bottom layer for cleaning and a yellow top layer to prevent corrosion and limit evaporation. This product is available in a ready-to-use fashion in 5-gallon cans as part #0905, and also in 1-gallon oblong can to be use as a replenisher product as part #0901. As for the shelf life of the two products, our formal response for unopened containers is generally 2 years. For 0996, though, it’s probably twice that long. For opened containers, shelf life will vary. Depending on frequency of use, 0996 could easily last 5 years if not used regularly. 0901 might not be good quite that long, mostly depending on storage conditions. In order to avoid compromising the metal container, 0901 must not be stored on concrete or metal floors/shelves.
