The competitive product you refer to is similar to Berryman Non-Chlorinated Brake Parts Cleaner (part #2420). While both products should be reasonably effective, our chlorinated version—Berryman Brake Parts Cleaner (part #1420)—is the most effective brake cleaner on the market. If you’re outside of California and New Jersey, we encourage you to try #1420.
