can I use a plastic container to use and store chem dip instead of the metal can....the metal can isn't large enough to dip my parts in...thanks

Perhaps. The Berryman Chem-Dip Carburetor & Parts Cleaner version in the 1-gallon paint can (part #0996) is suitable for temporary storage in most types of plastic. The other product, Professional Chem-Dip Carburetor & Parts Cleaner (part #0905), is not generally compatible with plastics.
