Did the new carb solve the issue with the idle? The most common cause for rough idle or hesitation is fuel delivery issues, which are usually caused by blockage in a fuel injector. However, carburetors, fuel pickups, and fuel filters can all suffer from the same basic issue, too. If gum or varnish break free in the fuel system, they can easily cause delivery problems.
