rebuilding mikuni carbs 2007 yamaha application.
butterfly shaft sticking, would like to dunk entire carb body.
trying to avoid having to unstake butterfly and remove shaft to get to seal.
will 0996 harm the o-ring seal(s) at the both ends of shaft

No, Chem-Dip (part #0996) will not harm rubber o-rings. However, if the carb is aluminum, zinc, or “pot metal,” we suggest soaking for 30-60 minutes at a time not to exceed 4 hours total. Otherwise, the metal surface may become discolored.
