I'M OLD SCHOOL AND REMEMBER SELLING CHEMTOOL TO TRANSMISSION REBUILDERS TO CLEAN CLUTCHES AND UNSTICK VALVES IN THE SIXTIES AND SEVENTIES. I HAVE A TRACTOR THAT I BELIEVE HAS A HYDRAULIC STEERING VALVE THAT IS STUCK. DO YOU THINK IT WOULD HURT TO POUR A PINT OF B-12 IN THE SYSTEM TO TRY TO UNSTICK THE VALVE?

We recommend using 1½-2 fl oz of Berryman B-12 Chemtool Fuel Injector Cleaner (part #0116) per quart of oil capacity for crankcase cleanings. If we apply this to hydraulic systems, then as long as your system uses about 2 gallons of hydraulic fluid, a pint is a good target. If it holds 3 gallons or more, you’ll probably be better suited to add additional B-12 and target that range of 1½-2 fl oz of 0116 per quart of hydraulic fluid.
