How to clean up Onan RV generator in place--thinking of disconnecting rubber fuel line and inserting it into small gas can filled with a mixture of fresh gas and a Chemtool product to get engine started. Will mixture be safe to run through fuel filter? Which product and in what proportion? Thank you.

Given the way you’re considering applying a cleaner, there are two primary ways of address the fuel system and carburetor. You can use a through-the-rail fuel injector product like Berryman B-12 CHEMTOOL FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER (part #1126) or you can use a high-performance fuel additive like our B-12 CHEMTOOL TOTAL FUEL SYSTEM CLEAN-UP (part #2616). 1126 is not designed to be diluted with gasoline. Instead, you simply run it as-supplied and it thoroughly cleans the carburetor or fuel injectors, intake valves, and combustion chambers. Alternatively, 2616 is our most powerful detergent-based fuel additive for gasoline engines and will also clean carburetor or fuel injectors, intake valves, and combustion chambers.
