I have used your B-12 Intake Chemtool Valve and Injector Cleaner Fuel Treatment in all of my vehicles for quite a few years now, and have never had any fuel or injector problems. I guess that's why I continue to use it. However, I notice that you have about 5 or 6 different fuel treatment/injector cleaner products. How do I know if I'm using the right one? My vehicles are newer models (under 5 years old)an SUV and heavy 1/2-ton pickups. I always add a bottle of your product to the gas tank when I change the oil. Is that what you recommend?

You actually are using the correct fuel additive for your vehicles in the proper time frame. There are many fuel additives in the market today. As engine technology advanced, many fuel-related issues surfaced. Originally, there were carburetor issues caused by gum and varnish deposits clogging and restricting passages in the carburetor. We addressed this problem in the early 1950s with the introduction of our B-12 Chemtool Carburetor Cleaner (#0116). This product is still in use today due to its H.E.S.T. (High Energy Solvent Technology). As fuel injection evolved, injector tips and pintles started clogging, causing improper atomization of the fuel. Different kinds of deposits formed, and B-12 Chemtool needed a detergent package to more readily soften these deposits in one application. Further advances in engine technology brought about higher horsepower and fuel efficiency, and these engines were designed to produce lower emissions. Due to these changes, the combustion chamber creates better fuel efficiency but generates higher combustion chamber temperatures so that intake valves can build up heavy deposits on the back side of the valve surface. These deposits alter the air/fuel ratio and flow rate to the cylinders causing rough idle and contributing to higher emissions. To combat these valve deposits, a different detergent with high-temperature capability was combined with the injector cleaning detergent to create our Intake Valve and Injector Cleaner (#3012). This is the product you are using today.
